Rock Island Armory GI Features The Rock Island GI in 10mm Auto is built around a steel frame and matte black finished steel barrel and slide giving this pistol the weight and durability of the original GI issue 1911 pattern. The double wide serrated slide is optic ready accepting an optic base adapter with an integrated rear sight for mounting a red dot such as an RMSc footprint optic and a red dot sight cover plate with screw is included for when no optic is mounted. A full length guide rod and ramp type bull barrel support reliable feeding and consistent accuracy while the skeletonized trigger reduces reciprocating mass for a crisper faster reset. A beavertail grip safety protects the shooter s hand from slide bite during recoil and the grip safety itself must be engaged for the pistol to fire adding a layer of safe handling to the manual of arms. Black checkered rubber grips provide a secure hold even with sweaty or gloved hands important given the stout recoil of the 10mm Auto cartridge. Fixed low profile front and rear sights keep the pistol snag free for holster use while remaining fast to acquire. At 2.50 lbs and with an 8+1 capacity the Rock Island GI delivers classic 1911 design with modern optic readiness for sale at GrabAGun.
