Bsf Barrels AR-10 Barrel Features The Bsf Barrels AR-10 Barrel starts as a turned-down 416R stainless steel match barrel before being jacketed in a roll-wrapped carbon fiber sleeve loaded under tension. This jacketing method is used instead of directly wrapping the barrel in carbon fiber since that approach has been proven to trap heat and cause delamination over time. The carbon fiber sleeve is specially designed to expand at the same rate as the 416R stainless steel underneath it keeping the two materials working together rather than against each other as the barrel heats up. Machined slots in the carbon fiber allow air to move around the barrel venting heat more quickly without introducing any delamination risk. Because the barrel is under tension from the carbon fiber wrap the rifling stays straighter as the barrel warms during a string of fire helping maintain accuracy deeper into a shooting session than a standard steel barrel might manage. This construction method delivers superior stiffness and strength while keeping the barrel extremely lightweight compared to a traditional stainless steel barrel of the same length. Button rifled with 6 grooves and a 1:10 inch twist rate the 18 inch barrel is threaded 5/8x24 for muzzle device compatibility on the AR-10 platform. For AR-10 builders looking to shed weight without sacrificing precision this carbon fiber wrapped barrel is a serious upgrade for sale at GrabAGun.
