Stock & Furniture: The rifle is housed in an incredibly durable, weatherproof aftermarket Choate Tool Corp. one-piece synthetic pistol grip stock. A previous owner painted the stock a chocolate brown color. It shows a field-worn look where the original black polymer is beginning to peek through the paint in high-friction areas, along with some light white superficial scuffs on the sides. Metal & Barrel Condition: * Receiver: The action is smooth and functions flawlessly. The original blued steel has aged into a smooth, even, protective brown/gray patina with absolutely no active rust or pitting. * Side Mount Modification: The left side of the receiver features a replacement bolt-stop cover plate with a knurled side-mount knob installed, ready to accept vintage side-rail optic mounts. * Barrel: Features the early-generation "skinny" straight barrel profile. There is a visible, recessed crease ring all the way around the exterior of the barrel located approximately 4 inches back from the muzzle. This is purely cosmetic-likely left behind by a heavily torqued historic barrel stabilizer, flashlight, or laser clamp. The bore has been thoroughly inspected with a bore light and a cleaning rod test; the interior is bright, sharp, completely uniform, and perfectly safe to shoot.
