KGM R556A1 Features The KGM Suppressors R556A1 is engineered to meet and exceed SOCOM specifications for full auto firing accuracy repeatability and sound suppression having successfully surpassed over 20 SOCOM SURG firing cycles while continuing to perform. Constructed of nickel alloy and stainless steel the suppressor is built to withstand significant round counts over a long service life on any semi or fully automatic carbine. Internally the R556A1 manages gas flow to vent forward with very minimal backpressure which also reduces toxic gases blown back toward the shooter s face. Beginning in 2024 the bore was EDM cut open to accommodate 6mm cartridges such as 6mm ARC in addition to standard 5.56 NATO loads giving one suppressor coverage across two calibers. Redirecting gas flow away from the bullet s flight path lets the R556A1 enhance the precision of its host rifle rather than degrading it while the same engineered gas path significantly reduces recoil for faster more controllable follow up shots. The suppressor mounts via a quick detach system paired with an included 1/2x28 direct thread mount so shooters can swap the R556A1 between rifles or remove it entirely without extra tools. At just 4.85 inches long 1.75 inches in diameter and about 16 ounces the can adds little bulk to a carbine s overall length or balance. Finished in black C Series Cerakote over its nickel alloy and stainless construction the KGM R556A1 is built for duty competition and range use where reliability under heavy round counts is the priority.
