Built on FN's short-stroke gas piston operating system, it features dual non-reciprocating charging handles and a monolithic aluminum upper receiver with an uninterrupted full-length top Picatinny rail, complemented by side and lower accessory rail sections. It is equipped with a 7.5-inch cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel fitted with a factory 3-prong flash hider, fully ambidextrous safety selector levers, and an ambidextrous magazine release. The rear of the receiver is fitted with an integrated vertical Picatinny rail adapter featuring an installed quick-detach (QD) sling swivel mount.
