Brownells Lightweight Carbine Barrel Features The Brownells Premium Lightweight Carbine Barrel pairs a hard chrome bore and chamber with a 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel construction giving builders a barrel that resists corrosion cleans easily and holds up to sustained hard use. The .223 Wylde chamber is cut to accommodate both .223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO pressures and bullet profiles so shooters are not locked into a single ammunition type. Button rifling with a 1-8 twist reliably stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights from lightweight 55 grain FMJ practice loads to heavier 77 grain premium projectiles favored for precision work. Carbine length gas system timing keeps the action cycling reliably in a standard AR-15 carbine build. A slim .625 inch gas block journal matches the lightweight profile helping keep the completed rifle balanced and maneuverable rather than nose heavy. The muzzle is threaded 1/2x28 to accept common muzzle devices such as compensators or suppressor mounts and M4 feedramps at the barrel extension interface correctly with M4-cut upper receivers. Exterior surfaces wear a matte phosphate finish that resists corrosion and holds oil well for long-term storage. Backed by Brownells lifetime guarantee to the original purchaser this barrel suits any AR-15 builder looking for a dependable versatile carbine-length upgrade.
