This Argentine-made FM Hi-Power is a licensed-production version of the classic Browning Hi-Power design, manufactured by Fabricaciones Militares in Argentina. Argentine FM pistols retained the traditional locked-breech, single-action Hi-Power operating system and were produced for both domestic use and export markets. This example is marked "FM HI-POWER / INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA" on the slide and bears Sportarms, Miami, FL importer markings on the opposite side. It features a black finish, fixed sights, ring-style hammer, and checkered wood grip panels. The standard full-size Argentine Hi-Power configuration uses a roughly 4.75" barrel and 13-round magazine. This pistol shows substantial honest use. There is heavy finish wear along the slide edges, muzzle, controls, and high-contact areas, along with numerous scratches and handling marks. The wood grips also show noticeable wear, edge damage, and finish loss. Despite the cosmetic wear, the pistol retains an appealing well-used military/service-pistol appearance.
