This is a U.S. M1911A1 .45 ACP pistol built on a 1944 Ithaca frame with a Remington Rand slide. It grades Very Good Plus and remains mechanically sound and range ready.The pistol is believed to have come from a government surplus program that transferred M1911A1s to local police departments. After Vietnam-era service, these guns were placed in secure storage and saw little use thereafter.Mixed wartime frames and slides like this are typical of arsenal-rebuilt service pistols.
