Product Description
Up for sale is an exceptionally rare, all-matching CZ BRNO Model 1908/34 Brazilian Contract, Short Rifle, chambered in its original 7x57mm Mauser caliber.
Research indicates that it was manufactured in Brno, Czechoslovakia, during the highly regarded interwar production era, this specific piece is a low 4-digit serial number (# 3010) from the first phase of the Brazilian contract in 1937, featuring no letter prefix. Unlike the vast majority of South American contract Mausers on the market today, this rifle has matching serial numbers across the receiver, bolt handle, stock, and bottom metal. The original military configuration remains unmodified. The receiver ring displays a sharp, beautifully preserved Brazilian national crest. The left side of the receiver retains Czechoslovakian factory inspection stamps, including the "T" in a circle provisional definitive proof and the Brazilian military acceptance star.
Condition Report:
- Metal Finish: Overall original bluing is at approximately 75%. It shows honest service wear concentrated primarily near the muzzle and around the floor plate from military carriage, fading into a smooth, even patina elsewhere.
- Bore: Condition is rated at 75-80%. The rifling remains clearly defined, strong, and moderately shiny throughout. There is mild, typical hazing in the grooves, appearing to be a mix of historic tooling marks and light wear from use.
- Stock: The stock is structurally sound with no major damage, but does have a notable gouge on the bottom/right side of the stock, just forward of the magazine plate. The serial number stamp matches the receiver. Please note the stock appears to have been neatly refinished at some point in its history, but it retains excellent eye appeal.
- Notes:
1:The front sight wing, on the left side, has a small dent. See image.
2:There are other minor imperfections throughout the rifle that are common with military surplus rifles.
3: Import marked under the barrel, just forward of the stock forend: SPR SPTR PN RN PA (Springfield Sporters, Penn Run, PA)
