The slide is marked MOD. 92FS-CAL. 9mm Parabellum-PATENTED on the left and BERETTA U.S.A. CORP., ACCOKEEK, MD, MADE IN USA on the right, so this is one of the American built guns rather than an Italian import. Black finish throughout with Beretta's checkered plastic grip panels and the trident medallion on both sides. This is the pistol the US military carried as the M9 for the better part of forty years, and it earned that job honestly. The open top slide is the whole trick: there is no ejection port to foul, so it clears itself and keeps running when it is dirty. The double action first shot breaks into a single action trigger that is still one of the better ones on a service pistol, and the full size frame soaks up 9mm recoil to the point where it barely moves. Full size gun with the 4.9 inch barrel, frame mounted safety and decocker, reversible magazine release, blade front sight and a dovetailed rear. The factory red chamber flag is fitted in the photographs. Condition is good and used. The finish is intact with no rust anywhere, showing light handling wear and some scattered fine scratches across the top of the slide and a little thinning along the top edges toward the muzzle. The grips are sound with sharp checkering, the markings are crisp, and the controls all look clean. Photographed as it is, so please look the pictures over and judge the finish for yourself.
