What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I wore the Columbia PFG Solar Stream II Hoodie on a full day float trip last summer and it held up through hours of direct sun without me reaching for sunscreen once. The Omni-Freeze fabric genuinely kept me cooler than I expected, even when we hit that midday stretch with zero shade and no breeze."There is a particular kind of misery in forgetting sun protection on a long fishing day, and the Columbia PFG Solar Stream II Hoodie exists precisely so that never happens to you again. Whether you are drifting a slow river or posted up on an exposed flat, this lightweight hoodie wraps you in broad-spectrum UPF 50+ protection without the stiff, stifling feel of something built only for sun blocking. Columbia's Omni-Freeze fabric does something most sun shirts can't quite manage: it actually feels cool against your skin as you sweat, accelerating moisture away and leaving you dry and focused on the water instead of the heat. The crossover hood adds neck coverage when the sun tracks low and your hat brim falls short, rounding out a piece that punches well above its weight for a full season on the water.
