Galfer FD496 Shimano K/L-Type Flat Mount Road Brake Pads Stop smarter. Stop sooner. Galfer has been engineering braking systems for over 60 years, and their FD496 brake pads bring that expertise directly to your favorite compatible Shimano K and L-series Flat Mount disc brakes. Available in four compounds to match your riding style and terrain, and engineered as direct replacements for Shimano flat-mount pads. Every variant uses an organic semi-metallic, non-asbestos compound construction for consistent, progressive braking feel, reduced brake disc wear, and minimal noise - all with a performance that stays consistent from the first stop to the last. Choose Your Compound Performance - Black (G1053): The all-conditions workhorse. Perfectly balanced for power, feel, durability, and low noise. A versatile, multipurpose compound that delivers progressive, predictable braking across XC, Enduro, DH, Gravel, and E-bike applications. The go-to choice for most riders. Pro - Green (G1554T): Galfer's race-grade compound, built for when temperatures spike and conditions get nasty. Excellent fade resistance and consistent power in wet, muddy, and dusty terrain make these the pad of choice for hard-charging descents and competition use. No bedding-in required. Advanced, Red - (G1851)All Conditions/Muddy Road, Blue (G1455) optimized for road riding in all conditions Note: All compounds require bedding-in (braking sparingly and gently, 20-25 times per wheel, allowing the system to cool between stops) except the Pro G1554T, which is ready to ride straight out of the package.
