Army, marking the replacement of the older Model 1860 percussion-cap revolvers. This iconic firearm quickly gained popularity among soldiers, who were captivated by its formidable stopping power, exceptional accuracy, and straightforward maintenance. The Single Action Army's reputation spread rapidly across the American West, and its acclaim crossed the Atlantic Ocean, finding favor in England for pistol marksman competitions. In 1894, the Colt Bisley Single Action Army model made its debut at the British Commonwealth Championship Match held in Bisley, England. The Bisley variant was specifically engineered for enhanced accuracy, featuring a lengthened grip frame, target-style grips, and a wide, low-profile hammer.
