Product Description

The Daniel Defense 5.56mm NATO is a performance-focused upgrade that marries durability with reduced weight for improved handling. Constructed from chrome-moly-vanadium and cold-hammer-forged for excellent strength and dimensional consistency, the lightweight 16-inch government profile trims mass without compromising rigidity, making it well suited for extended carry and dynamic applications. The 1:7" twist rate stabilizes a broad range of 5.56 NATO projectiles (especially heavier 62–77 gr bullets), while the mid-length gas system and low-profile gas block promote smooth, reliable cycling and softer recoil impulse. Finished to tight tolerances and compatible with standard 5.56/.223 muzzle devices, this assembly delivers repeatable accuracy and long service life for duty, competition, and serious recreational shooters who want high performance with less weight. All of Daniel Defense’s Barrels offer high performance and a long lasting construction. All barrels are cold-hammer forged and made from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel with a mil-spec heavy phosphate coating as well as a chrome lining for superior durability. In addition, Daniel Defense Barrels are offered in a massive assortment of configurations, with options available for different lengths, gas-blocks, thread pitches, and calibers.
