Henry Frontier Carbine 22 S / L / LR Blued Lever Action Rifle - 16.5in - Like stagecoaches, swinging saloon doors, and Pony Express riders, many innovations of the Old West have faded from daily life, lingering mainly in Western films and history books. Yet a few frontier-born ideas proved so practical-and so advanced for their time-that they continue to hold their place even today. Among these enduring features is the octagon barrel, once a defining characteristic of the repeating rifles carried by cowboys, lawmen, settlers, and outlaws. Its extra weight and balanced design helped dissipate heat and stabilize the firearm during prolonged use, making it an early predecessor to the heavy-profile barrels found on today's precision and varmint rifles. In tribute to this lasting design, the H1 Frontier Rifle & Carbine brings together Henry's renowned rimfire lever-action system with a traditional octagon barrel and classic aesthetics. The rifle model offers versatility for everything from quiet recreational shooting to small-game hunting and accurate rimfire performance. For those seeking a more compact option, the carbine version provides enhanced maneuverability without compromising the smooth action and accuracy the Frontier line is known for. To reinforce its period-inspired appearance, the H1 Frontier includes a semi-buckhorn rear sight with a diamond insert, paired with a prominent brass bead front sight mounted in standard 3/8-inch dovetail slots. A metal barrel band secures both the octagonal barrel and tubular magazine to a stock made from finely grained, hand-finished American walnut. Despite its classic styling, the H1 Frontier is built with modern shooters in mind. The receiver is grooved for scope mounts, making it easy to add optics while preserving the rifle's traditional look. Internally, Henry's smooth lever-action mechanism ensures reliable cycling and consistent performance, delivering a shooting experience that matches its timeless appeal. Combining Old West heritage with contemporary rimfire capability, the H1 Frontier Rifle & Carbine honors a design that has endured not because it changed, but because it never had to.
