So, e.g., a 32" belt will fit a 32" waist, with the buckle in the center hole, and the belt will cover 31-33" fits using the other holes. Please keep in mind that IWB holsters may require an additional 2" of waist sizing, so it is often best to order the next size up for that use.Buckle is removable. If you replace the buckle with a large Western-style buckle, the large buckle will effectively make the belt longer. You may need to order one size smaller if the buckle is very large.
