Whether your&';e after trout, bass, or pan fish a 5 wt fly rod is a great choice. 6wt: a little bit better than the 5 for throwing larger and heavier flies. If youre going to be trout fishing or bass fishing with small streamers, large nymphs, longer casts, and wind, a 6wt is for you. 7wt: Perfect for streamers. If you want to fish bigger flies for bigger fish grab a 7wt. Most of our time spent streamer fishing is with a 7wt outfit like this one. 8wt: The perfect tool for saltwater. Have that beach vacay trip lined up and want to fish some while you&';re out there? This is for you. Redfish, bonefish, snook, juvenile tarpon, and reef fish are all caught on 8wts.
