For those nerve-wracking days when the fish won't cooperate, you'd be wise to have a Shimano Zodias Casting Rod rigged and ready. It's the only sure way to know if you're actually fishing dead water, or just missing opportunities. This rod sets the standard for sensitivity, with a unique construction protocol that enhances vibration transmission by about 30% over conventionally built rods. Its high-grade blank features Shimano's strong but lightweight Hi-Power X technology, and it's integrated with a full-carbon handle system that couples a rigid CI4+ carbon fiber reel seat and a hollow Carbon Monocoque Grip. This combination allows you to map the bottom by feel alone, and know when a fish is sampling your bait. The Fuji K Alconite semi-micro guides and SiC tip add precious little weight; all in all, you'll find this rod easy to cast and comfortable to hold, with a crisp, highly responsive feel in the hand.
