Product Description

In July of 1873, the U. S. Army adopted the Colt Single Action Army to replace its older Model 1860 percussion-cap revolvers. The Single Action Army was immediately popular among the soldiers that used them, who valued their formidable stopping power, high accuracy, and easy to maintain construction. This reputation quickly spread across the American West, and then across the Atlantic Ocean where they became popular in England for pistol marksman competitions. In 1894, the Colt Bisley Single Action Army model was unveiled at the British Commonwealth Championship Match in Bisley, England. These revolvers had been optimized for accuracy by adding a long grip frame and target style grips, as well as a wide, low profile hammer. In England, the Bisley Model was mainly used for recreational shooting, but in America they mostly used as a self defense weapon as the grip and hammer were perfect for fast shooting. Uberti's 1873 Cattleman Bisley Revolvers are authentic reproductions down to the last detail. They include the distinct "target-style" grips and grip frame, a color case-hardened body, and target sights.
