A drop of air from the sensor causes a partial vacuum and the sample continues to flow while gravity removes the sample. A helium drop makes the sensor responsive to intervening time changes in temperature and humidity. The sensor incorporate differential acceleration which causes the sample to expand and contract just like a chromatograph.
