The crimped nose makes it easy to load the bullets and the handles grip the tops of the mold well. With only a small amount of lubrication clean molds will produce thousands of perfectly round correctly sized 38 caliber bullets. When just a few bullets are cast the sprue plate is locked into place preventing deformation. The Lee Round Nose Pistol Mould is designed to make thousands of casts so you need not worry about sprue plates breaking or the mold becoming too worn.
