The Ruger SP101's stainless steel construction has the strength to handle the powerful .357 Magnum cartridge, while still being a controllable, small-framed double-action revolver. Some of Ruger's SP101 features are tool-less takedown and re-assembly, triple locking cylinder for more positive alignment and dependable operation, and a spurless hammer for a snag-free draw. Ruger designed the SP101 for solid performance and to be the most powerful of small-frame revolvers. With the SP101's recoil-reducing grip, the SP101 is comfortable to shoot and perfect for personal defense or field use.
