The EGW higher magazine catch features a shelf that is elevated by 0.02 inches to position the magazine higher within the frame. The button is extended by 1/2 inches compared to the original 1911A1 factory button, facilitating a swift and reliable magazine release on the first attempt. Firearms experiencing issues with nose dives will benefit from the elevated magazine placement, assuming there is a slight gap between the magazine and the frame at the front. This adjustment results in improved feeding with 8-rounds .45 magazines and hollow-point ammunition. The magazine catch is checkered to enhance grip. This component is neither MIM (metal injection molded) nor cast. Additionally, our magazine catches are not pre-tapped for buttons and the button adheres to standard GI specifications.
