Axis rifles save money without sacrificing performance. Savage didn\'t design a cheaper rifle, they designed a better way to make a Savage, including pillar-bedded barrels with more uniform cooling and greater consistency. Axis rifles feature a modern design with silky-smooth bolt operation and a detachable box magazine. XP models include a mounted and boresighted 3-9x40mm scope, and Axis II models feature Savage\'s adjustable AccuTrigger. This Axis II XP model features a hardwood stock and a 22" blued carbon steel barrel.
