Vortex Defender-ST Features The Defender-ST s durable 7075 aluminum enclosed housing protects against debris and moisture giving shooters a rugged optic built to withstand harsh weather conditions and the highest levels of recoil and impact. SOLAR with Auto D-TEC Technology detects light conditions to automatically draw power from solar or battery as needed extending battery runtime from 35 000 hours on battery alone to 150 000 hours with solar assistance. A large viewing window paired with an aspherical lens delivers fast target acquisition and a distortion-free sight picture with truer colors. For duty professionals who need an optic that survives harsh conditions without sacrificing runtime the Vortex Defender-ST s solar-assisted power system delivers that extended dependability in the field. A Fast-Rack textured grip on the face of the optic allows the shooter to rack the slide off any surface a genuine advantage for one-handed manipulation drills. Motion activation with a 10 minute auto-shutoff keeps the optic ready the instant it s picked up while conserving battery when not in use and a button lockout prevents accidental brightness adjustment during use or transport. A side load battery design allows easy battery changes without having to rezero the optic saving time at the bench or in the field. For competitive shooters who need fast slide manipulation and worry-free battery swaps the Defender-ST delivers both without disrupting a dialed-in zero.
