Hornady Dangerous Game Handgun Features The Hornady Dangerous Game Handgun bullet uses a protected point that locks the bullet nose to the core delivering maximum straightline penetration while limiting deflection through heavy muscle and bone. This jacketed construction produces no lead smoke on firing unlike hard cast alternatives which keeps the sight picture clear for a quicker more accurate follow up shot when it matters most. The massive 500 grain weight in 50 Cal / .500 is heavy for caliber maximizing energy transfer from a backcountry big bore sidearm. This combination of penetration and clean firing makes it a serious option for hunters who carry a large caliber handgun as backup against dangerous animals. Each box contains 50 bullets built for handloaders assembling dedicated dangerous game handgun ammunition rather than relying on a repurposed hunting projectile. The .500 diameter is precise for reloaders working with 50 caliber revolver cartridges who need consistent chambering and reliable feeding. This bullet s heavy for caliber design and protected point construction reflect Hornady s focus on backcountry sidearm performance against the largest and most dangerous game. For anyone loading rounds meant to stop a charging animal this bullet is built around that single demanding purpose.
