Barnes Bullets Suppressor Optimized Features Barnes Suppressor Optimized ammunition loads a 147 grain Sierra jacketed hollow point bullet to a subsonic velocity around 985 feet per second keeping the round below the sound barrier for quieter suppressed shooting. The subsonic velocity combined with clean-burning propellants minimizes gas blowback into the action reducing the fouling that often builds up in suppressed semi-auto pistols. This combination also helps improve cycling reliability an important factor for shooters relying on a suppressor-ready platform in self-defense or range use. Brass cases with reloadable construction give handloaders the option to recover and reuse components after firing. Each box holds 50 rounds of this premium 9mm Luger load giving shooters a solid supply for a range session or suppressor break-in. The use of a proven Sierra jacketed hollow point projectile brings consistent expansion and reliable terminal performance to a subsonic loading. Barnes engineered this line specifically for the coming surge in suppressor ownership targeting new and experienced suppressor users alike. For anyone running a suppressed 9mm pistol this load offers a dependable way to get quieter more reliable shots downrange.
