Arisaka Indexer Features The Arisaka Defense Indexer mounts to a Geissele SMR 416 handguard and gives the support hand a defined forward index point typically used between the index and middle fingers. Positioned further forward on the handguard it stays out of the way when a shooter transitions to kneeling or prone positions where the support hand often moves rearward. Used this way the Indexer makes it noticeably easier to pull the rifle firmly into the shoulder and keep control through recoil. It is CNC machined from 6061-T651 aluminum and finished with a Type III hard coat anodize for long term durability. Beyond its primary use as a finger index the wider flatter profile of the Indexer also works well as a hand stop or barricade stop when shooting around cover. It additionally serves as a forward limit that keeps fingers from sliding off the end of shorter handguards onto a hot barrel or suppressor.
