Thompson 1927A-1 Features The Thompson 1927A-1 Deluxe Lightweight Carbine ships with both a 50-round drum magazine and a 20-round stick magazine letting the shooter choose between the classic drum look for range days and a slimmer stick magazine for easier handling and transport. The aluminum alloy barrel and receiver keep the rifle noticeably lighter than an original steel Thompson while retaining the same general profile and manual of arms. A blade front sight paired with an adjustable rear sight gives the shooter a simple rugged sighting system suited to the rifle s pistol-caliber .45 ACP chambering. The thumb safety provides a familiar easily accessible manual safety for range use. Genuine walnut furniture gives the rifle the classic wood-and-steel look associated with the original Thompson submachine gun now built as a semi-automatic carbine for civilian ownership. The blued finish on the barrel and receiver ties the modern build to its historical roots while offering solid corrosion resistance for regular range use. At 9.5 pounds the rifle carries real heft that helps manage recoil and muzzle rise when running through a drum s worth of .45 ACP. The 1927A-1 gives Thompson enthusiasts and history-minded shooters an accessible way to own and shoot a faithful recreation of an American icon.
