Primary Weapons Systems MK116 MOD 2-M Features The Primary Weapons Systems MK116 MOD 2-M runs on PWS s long stroke piston system with a 3-setting adjustable gas system reducing the fouling and heat that a direct impingement gun sends back into the action. The 16.1 barrel is cut with a 1:8 twist rate to stabilize a wide range of .223 Wylde bullet weights and the FSC 556 muzzle device manages recoil and flash for faster follow-up shots. A mid-length gas system smooths the cycling impulse compared to a carbine-length system on a barrel this length. Together these elements deliver a reliable piston-driven upper built for serious range use and duty-style applications. The 15 PWS PicLok handguard lets users mount Picatinny or M-LOK accessories directly to the free-float rail without needing an adapter keeping the rifle s front end slim at 1.7 wide. The forged upper and lower receivers are finished in a hard coat anodize per Mil 8625 Type III Class 2 resisting wear from repeated use and field conditions. A flared magwell and built-in trigger guard streamline reloads under pressure and the included Radian Raptor ambidextrous charging handle allows fast manipulation from either side of the rifle. This complete package reflects PWS s reputation for high-end purpose-built AR-15 components.
