The Ortovox Ortler Softshell Pants use an elastic softshell material with merino wool that breathes on the way up and holds warmth on the way down. The regular fit and anatomically shaped knee area give the legs room to move through tight kick turns and steep terrain without binding up. A mesh-lined thigh pocket keeps an avalanche transceiver within reach, and reinforced panels guard against sharp edges on the descent. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I can drop into a string of kick turns on a steep skin track without the fabric fighting my knee, which is the difference between a smooth transition and a stumble."
