The 7mesh Guardian Terra Jacket trades a lighter shell's packability for the durability alpine climbers actually need. A 70D nylon face fabric backs the three-layer GORE-TEX PRO ePE laminate, standing up to rock, rope, and repeated pack strap wear that wears through lighter fabric fast. The Guardian fit adds room through the arms and pits, so the heavier build never costs the reach and movement a technical route demands. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I've hauled this jacket up granite faces for three seasons without the shell showing a single tear. It's taken repeated scrapes against rock, and a harness cinched tight all day, and the fabric hasn't given an inch."
