P proof on the frame. Left trigger guard stamped 5. Right trigger guard stamped U. These are Remington Rand factory/assembly marks. Slide Marked REMINGTON RAND INC. SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A. P proof on top of the slide. U stamped on the rear face of the slide behind the firing pin stop. Remington Rand used letter stamps in this location as factory assembly/inspector marks. Remington Rand slides were not serial-numbered under the firing pin stop. Barrel High Standard WWII contract barrel. Lower lug marked HS on one side and P on the other. High Standard supplied barrels to Remington Rand during WWII and as GI replacement barrels. Grips Brown checkered plastic grips. Underside marked 5564062, 16, and Keyes star-K. 5564062 is a postwar government part number. Keyes Fibre grips with this marking are later replacement stocks, commonly found on arsenal-rebuilt and CMP pistols.
