Serial number is in the Remington Rand block 1,279,699-1,441,430, corresponding to late 1943-early 1944 production.
Left side inspector mark FJA (Frank J. Atwood, Rochester Ordnance District).
P proof on the frame.
Left trigger guard stamped 5.
Right trigger guard stamped U.
These are Remington Rand factory/assembly marks.
Slide Marked REMINGTON RAND INC. SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A. P proof on top of the slide.
U stamped on the rear face of the slide behind the firing pin stop.
Remington Rand used letter stamps in this location as factory assembly/inspector marks. Remington Rand slides were not serial-numbered under the firing pin stop.
Barrel High Standard WWII contract barrel. Lower lug marked HS on one side and P on the other. High Standard supplied barrels to Remington Rand during WWII and as GI replacement barrels.
Grips Brown checkered plastic grips. Underside marked 5564062, 16, and Keyes star-K. 5564062 is a postwar government part number. Keyes Fibre grips with this marking are later replacement stocks, commonly found on arsenal-rebuilt and CMP pistols.
Magazine Floorplate marked 19200- ASSY 5508694 MFR. 1M291. 1M291 is the CAGE code for Check-Mate Industries. This is a later USGI contract magazine, not a WWII original magazine.

Parkerized finish with holster wear, edge wear, and slide marks. No major pitting noted on exterior Grips complete; checkering worn, no cracks Bore has visible rifling.
