This specially engineered steel alloy offers a subtle elasticity that enhances barrel harmonics and minimizes barrel expansion during intense shooting sessions; a problem that is common on inferior hammer forged barrels as well as hammer forged barrels that have been low temperature stress relieved. The B3.5SM benefits from the revolutionary 2-piece receiver design, an innovation that Breda introduced in 1947 on the Breda 1001 Shotgun. The receiver of the B3.5SM is crafted in a painstaking multi-step process using state-of-the-art laser and machining technologies, ensuring the highest degree of accuracy in dimensions. Again, specially selected materials are used for the receiver including Italian sourced, high carbon steel for the upper receiver and a solid billet of 7075-T6 military spec, aerospace grade aluminum alloy for the lower receiver.
