Quality Hardware was one of the smaller contractors tasked with producing the M1 Carbine. This example is marked at the top rear of the receiver ""QUALITY H.M.C. / 1637994"" and on the front chamber area is marked ""U.S. CARBINE"", ""CAL .30 M1"". The type III round bolt is marked on the left lug ""IO / 2"" and an ""X"" on the right ""INLAND"". The type III barrel band with bayonet lug is marked ""KI"". The top of the barrel behind the front sight is marked ""BUFFALO ARM / 8-1943 / Flaming bomb symbol"" and the front sight base is Marked ""RP"". The rear sight is marked ""I.R.C.O. / 7160060"" for International Register Co. The type IV magazine release button is marked ""M / NA"". The type IV rotary safety is marked ""M"" in a horseshoe shape indicates it was likely manufactured by McCullough Co. The trigger group housing is marked ""-U-"" for Underwood. The stock set is a two piece oval sling cut, low wood. The stock is marked in the sling cut area ""S-HB"" and under upper handguard on the edge is marked ""S-HB"" for Hillerich & Bradsby Co. (Standard Products). The oiler is marked ""II"" for International Silver CO. In good surplus condition with no magazine."
