Rio Morrish May Day Fly

Product Description

After 40 years of observing mayfly duns on the water and comparing them to the flies we imitate them with, I had a simple but somewhat profound revelation. Duns sit on the water not in the water. Their bodies don't touch the water and their tails are nowhere near the surface. When fish look up at duns, there is nothing more than a light semi-round impression of the insect, and that impression is far smaller than the impression of a typical parachute-style fly with a tail that supports it. Most duns have an imprint more like a spinner, and that just isn't right. This fly addresses these shortcomings and has a small light footprint complimented by a strong buoyant wing profile. Try it, it works really well.
