Mossberg Maverick 88 - 12 Gauge - 24" Barrel - 3" Chamber - Accu-Choke Mossberg Maverick 88 shotguns are basic, no frills, affordable and durable shotguns. They'll run with a wide variety of shells and the fact that parts are interchangeable with the Mossberg 500 make them an attractive option. The shotgun that we have on consignment (MV43573B) has a 24 inch vent rib barrel and features the Accu-Choke system. One choke is present in the gun today. The shotgun will chamber both 2-3/4 inch shells and 3 inch shells. There is a mid-length bead and a white bead sight at the end of the barrel. The synthetic stock is a black/OD green camo pattern. A ventilated recoil pad is at the end of the stock. The recoil pad is in Very Good condition. The stock shows some signs of honest use. The bore is overall good but there is some light fouling that looks to clean up easily. The action is smooth. Safety is a cross-bolt variety. The barrel has some minor pitting just forward of the receiver and the top of the barrel rib has some light surface oxidation. If you're after an affordable, dependable 12 Gauge shotgun, this price is hard to beat. Purchase is for the shotgun only. No other items are included in the sale. This is a consignment sale and, like all of our consignments, we have not test fired this shotgun. We have performed our function checks on the gun. The only issue that we find is that there is some play in the forearm, but this is common on the Maverick 88 model. As with all pre-owned firearm purchases, please review the photos carefully so that you are comfortable with the condition of the shotgun.
