"Remington Rand M1911A1 in .45 ACP. The M1911A1 is an improved version of the original M1911 that entered service in 1926. The U.S. military procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols during its service life. The pistol served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985. It was manufactured by Remington Rand in 1943. It is marked United States Property, ser #1028806. The bore is good with some light pitting or frosted appearance. Correct High Standard barrel marked ""HS"" on the right of the lug and ""P"" on the left. Du-Lite finished slide and parkerized frame; appears to have been assembled this way during transitional period. Magazine absent."
