The Smith Enterprise Suppressor Gas Cylinder Piston reduces surface contact with I.D. of the gas cylinder and has more room for carbon to build up. This allows the piston to move more freely without the interference of excessive carbon. The increased gas volume, and short length of the plug are specifically designed to improve the function of rifles, as well as clearance for using a suppressor. The increased volume of this plug is also useful when running a suppressor on longer barrels, due to the increase in gas backpressure common with suppressors.
