The Orion SOS Beacon complies with all US Coast Guard requirements for "Night Visual Distress Signals" as found in the Code of Federal Regulations: 46 CFR 161.013. The beacon flashes a bright "SOS" distress signal in Morse Code. Not only does this beacon flash two times longer than USCG continuous run-time requirements, but it also maintains constant light intensity 2.5 times longer than USCG requirement. Built for harsh marine environments, the SOS beacon has high-impact, high-visibility orange ABS plastic unibody construction. This SOS Beacon has multiple deployment options: floating in the water with its self-righting design, held in hand with its molded-in plastic grips, or hanging with the provided lanyard.
