NSN, Circa 1840's-1860's, .72 caliber, 40.5" round barrel. Barrel and other iron parts are a dark grey patina with pitting visible around the nipple. Lock plate has a "Crown/AF". Stock has expected nicks, dings, and scratches. The initials "HM" are carved into the wood. A piece of lead has impacted the area below the initials! Action functions correctly. It is more than likely to have been imported for the Civil War. (AL5484)
