By uniquely combining the deep flex of a 3-piece boot and the edge control of a 2-piece, the phaenom fs 01 120 Ski Boot virtually demanded us give them a go. The results were as advertised. Not only did these feel like a 2-piece boot with a more progressive flex, but we really loved how the 102mm last left room for blood to circulate to our toes, how the 120 flex limits energy loss, and how the phaenom strap provides rebound and shock absorption for high-speed riding.
