Compared to others, 100% Kona Bloom is smoother and perfect for medium - light roast Kona coffee aficionados seeking naturally sweet & juicy coffees. In a slight contrast, Ka'u Wood Valley Single Estate is brighter, akin to white wine, and Maui Mellow has stronger notes of roasted nuts. BACKGROUND: PROCESS OF REFINEMENT Before roasting, each of our Kona coffee undergoes three additional steps that elevate the quality and meets our expectations: optical sorting, grading, and storing in Grain - pro bags. Grading separates the beans into different sizes and removes some defects. This creates a clean consistency in the cup. Optical sorting removes remaining defects, discolored and damaged beans. Grain - pro storage protects the delicate coffee from Hawaii's humid environment. Bean size We use a larger bean size for this Kona medium roast, which is both beautiful to look at and, weve noticed, tastes a bit fruitier and more floral in the cup.
