The Long Range Series featured maxed-out barrel lengths that allow you to take down elk and moose-sized game in the wide-open expanses and peak-to-peak terrain of the Western US. It starts with a stainless steel receiver that is glass bedded within the stock. Glass bedding is a time-consuming process, but it's worth it because it creates an exact match between the action and stock-and because it free-floats the barrel. Free-floated barrels are inherently more accurate because they are allowed to vibrate, flex and move freely within the stock, WITHOUT interference from contact points. The Mountain Pro SPR comes equipped with an 26 inch, spiral-fluted heavy barrel with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake that reduces felt recoil by up to 76%. The barrel is hand-chambered for precise headspacing-again, a time-consuming process, and one that other rifle manufacturers often skip. But the result is absolutely worth it for accuracy and shot-to-shot consistency. The barrel is bedded within a true carbon fiber stock that's lightweight, rigid and filled with a noise-dampening foam. Textured grip panels give you plenty of traction, even in rain or snow.
