It retains the notable characteristics of the original Minion DHF namely the ramped center knobs for lower rolling resistance and straight-line control combined with channel-cut gripping edges for cornering precision. Since it's not a plus-size tire the 2. 6-inch volume doesn't come with a drastic weight penalty so you won't feel like you're pedaling along with a lumbering behemoth of a tire. EXO protection reinforces the sidewalls from slashes and abrasion when you're ripping across formidable stretches of roots and rocks. This particular DHF comes with Maxxis' 3C Max Terra compound which is comprised of a harder base layer with progressively softer rubber on top for tacky grip and control especially in slippery trail conditions. Seeing it's softer than dual-compound tires you'll reap benefits in the grip department albeit with a trade off in tread longevity and rolling resistance. We recommend setting it up in the front for heightened control without sacrificing much in durability or rolling resistance which are both of greater concern on your rear tire.
