With the introduction of the HD Plus Leica was keen on an improvement in both the use of materials and viewing experience. With this one has succeeded in co-operation with the Schott glass-HT optics to integrate a sharper image on almost the entire field of view. It delivers a high contrast image with accurate colors and virtually no distortion, even in low light.The Schott HT glass ensures high light transmission in the blue/violet color range, making for improved color reproduction and performance in low light. The durable and scratch and abrasion resistant High Durable Coating (HDC) on the lens surface provides good protection against oil, water and dirt.The roof prisms are equipped with P40 phase correction and Leica's High Lux (HLS) coating. This coating virtually eliminates chromatic aberration which provides improved contrast and color reproduction.The Ultravid HD Plus binoculars are made from a lightweight and durable aluminum housing with a titanium hinge for hours of comfortable observing.
