It is necessary to thoroughly mix Pettit Inflatable Boat Bottom Paint prior to application. Before using, check sides and bottom of can to make sure all the pigment has been mixed in. When rolling, thin the paint approximately 5-10% with clean fresh water and wet the surface to be painted with clean fresh water as well. This aids the "hold out" of the coating, resulting in truer color and smoother finish. Application Methods: Brush, Roller, Airless or Conventional Spray.; Number of Coats: 2 minimum with additional coat at waterline recommended.; Dry Film Thickness: 1.5 mils (3.75 wet mils); Coverage: 430 sq. ft/gal.; Application Temp: 50F Min. / 90F Max.; Thinner: Clean, fresh water; DRY TIMES: Temp To Touch To Recoat To Launch 90F 1/4 HR 1 HR 12 HR 70F 1/2 HR 2 HR 16 HR 50F 1 HR 4 HR 48 HRApplication Systems Rubberized Fabric Surfaces; Wash surface to be painted with a mild detergent and water solution, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Allow to dry.; Pour a moderate amount of of 97 Epoxy Thinner onto a bronze wood pad.; Choose a small area and scrub the surface lightly but thoroughly. Wipe off any excess 97 Epoxy Thinner.; Repeat the process until the entire surface to be painted has been scrubbed and wiped clean.; Apply a generous coat of Inflatable Boat Bottom Paint.; Allow the paint to dry to recoat and apply a second full coat.; Fiberglass Surfaces; Wash the fiberglass with Pettit 97 Epoxy Thinner to remove grease and dirt.; Sand thoroughly with 80 grit sandpaper to a dull, frosty finish.; Rewash sanded surface with 97 Epoxy Thinner.; Apply at least two coats of Inflatable Boat Bottom Paint.; Previously Coated Surfaces; To repaint surfaces painted with this product:; Scrub the finish with an abrasive pad and recoat with a fresh coat of Inflatable Boat Bottom Paint.; To paint old, hard antifoulings:; Thoroughly wipe down the surface with 120 Brushing Thinner.; Sand surface with 80 grit sandpaper.
