klite-dual-usb-mount-3m-all-weather-vhb, Finally--a proper mount for your kLite Dual USB Charger! Ditch your improvised zip tie mounting strategy and mount your USB charger with one of two common mounting approaches: Option 1 is the kLite / GoPro style mount with two lobes, that mechanically mounts to a kLite / GoPro three lobe handlebar mount. Option 2 is the circular Garmin style "push and rotate" mount that is common in bicycle computer mounts. Both have proven successful for us on rugged bikepacking adventures.Both come with all weather 3M VHB tape for secure mounting to the back of your kLite Dual USB charger. We've experimented with 2-part weatherproof epoxies and various cyanoacrylates but they're generally "permanent" and this VHB tape offers up a fantastic weatherproof grab while being somewhat removable (you'll need to work at it with a razor knife, ask me how I know) in the event you'd like to reposition your mount of simply remove it later. In short, it's the right tool for the job. Both options come with the 3M tape applied. Clean the USB charger with light soap and water, dry thoroughly, peel back the top layer and firmly stick the mount to the back of your USB charger. Maintain moderate pressure overnight (stack of books, vise, etc.) and you'll be good to go. Option 1: This kLite / GoPro style mount is designed in Australia by kLite and produced in the USA from Nylon 12 plastic. 8g. You'll need a 3-lobe kLite / GoPro mount to connect it to your bike - we have several available on the site.Option 2: This Garmin style quarter turn circular mount is produced for Jefe.Bike in China from PVC plastic. Because it's slightly larger than the dimensions of the USB charger, it allows for maximum grip surface area of the 3M tape to the device. 8g. You'll need a Garmin-style circular computer mount to connect it to your bike - we have several available on the site, and because Garmin mounts are quite common, you may already have one in your parts bin!If you're moving from an "in the bag" USB solution to an exterior mounted solution, make sure your Dual USB Charger connection face is pointed down so that water doesn't pool inside the device and avoid placing it in the direct stream of water and debris from your wheelset. You'll also want to use a bit of dielectric grease on the exterior of the USB charger and the USB cables to maximize your electrical connections in wet or moist conditions and keep surface rust at bay. Even though the 3M tape is awesome, for safety, you'll want to ziptie your kLite input cord to the plastic "ladder" on the top of the Dual USB charger. This is a good "belt and suspenders" strategy that makes sure that you don't lose anything on the trail.Does not include kLite Dual USB Charger - this is available separately.
