The 60 point, 6deg engagement, 3 pawl engagement makes for less drag and quick engagement. This quick engagement is ideal for sprinting out of tight turns, and steep mountain climbs where a pause in your cadence flow equals a loss of balance and maybe a topple over! Large diameter disk flanges are angled to lower spoke stress, improve wheel stiffness, and braking torque transfer. The Torch utilizes a contact seal packed with marine grease just outside of the bearings to keep grime out of the cartridge bearing. This makes for less maintenance and serves to extend the life of the bearings. Industry Nine components are manufactured in the USA, start to finish. Everything. Through the layers of CNC machine processes, even if parts are separately machined and scrutinized by quality control. Hubs are individually polished and/or anodized, and laser-etched in-house. The production warehouse shelves are constantly moving with outgoing orders and incoming fresh parts from the machine shop. Industry nine has all of the technology they need to create their in-house project. For example, there's a wire EDM Machine, which cuts hardened steel by using an electrical current. The wire EDM machine used to cut the teeth and pawls and the EDM Wire machine maximizes strength and accuracy. Industry Nine really goes the whole nine yards with their components.
