GOEF: 57th Wing- Royal Blue, The Gathering of Eagles Foundation (GOEF) is honored to recognize United States Air Force Major General Jeannie M. Leavitt as a 2020 Air & Space Power Legend. General Leavitt has achieved many historical firsts as the United States Air Force's first female fighter pilot, first female fighter aircraft Weapons Officer, and first female Fighter Wing Commander of the 57th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. Throughout her career, she has accumulated over 3,000 flying hours, including over 300 hours of combat flight time over Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, General Leavitt was a principal advisor and the motivation behind the Walt Disney Company's Captain Marvel film. Currently, General Leavitt is the Commander, Air Force Recruiting Service, at Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph, Texas. She is responsible for the recruitment and training of thousands of future Airmen. General Leavitt is an inspirational leader and mentor to military personnel and civilians alike.
